Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are purified DNA molecules extracted from fish, which makes this treatment unsuitable for vegetarians, vegans, or individuals with any fish allergies.
The polynucleotides target and repair cells responsible for the formation of connective tissue to produce more collagen which helps maintain the skin’s firm structure, leading to firmer, smoother and more hydrated skin. The treatment typically involves a course of 3 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment and the procedure is relatively quick and well tolerated.
Following the treatment there may be slight redness in the area as well as small bumps/swelling, with mild bruising at the injection site. This is temporary and generally subsides within a few days. Mineral make-up can be applied the following day.
Whilst improvements in the skin may be visible after the first treatment, the full effects are evident at around 12 weeks, following the completion of the course of treatment.
Maintenance treatments are recommended after 6-12 months to maximise long-term results.
